Stardust

Archival pigment prints, 15″ x 22″, 2010

“We are made of stardust.  Every atom of every element in your body, except for hydrogen, has been manufactured inside stars, scattered across the Universe in great stellar explosions, and recycled to become part of you.”  – Stardust: supernovae and life – the cosmic connection by John and Mary Gribbin

Inspired by this idea of universal connectivity, I used the image of different plants found in my backyard and breath-blown ink shapes overlaid with images captured from the Hubble telescope to represent the stretches of the universe.
